That may appear to be a simple ...and correct answer. And it is ...yet, though we can only tell, it's like the saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make 'em drink."

It may even be difficult to lead them ...because we do not harness their feelings.  It is difficult to even harness our own.

We are not in complete charge of our emotions ...and we do not know the unique details of another, in order to understand what leads someone to believe as they do.

And others are often questioning what is behind our desire to converse as we do.  It seems always a good thing to care about others ...yet, sometimes people treat it like a crime, to think someone may be actually sincere enough to want the best for everyone. (And this is not speaking as a politician speaks ...as I would never think I know what's best for someone else. I just know that God knows ...so it's best everyone comes to better know Him.)

Does that offend? Is that so much of a crime to state that claim??

Speaking of crimes, there are often three main things that are common to a criminal investigation.

  • Means
  • Opportunity
  • Motive
It's not a crime to tell someone about Jesus, though some people act like it is a criminal infringement.  We should be thankful in our country to be able to not face criminal prosecution for sharing our beliefs ...so, we do have the means.

And opportunity ...it seems to be directly related to having the means, as we do also have the chance to do so many of the things we set out to do.

Our motive can vary, but even more so does it stand the difficult scrutiny of those who think our motive is less than sincere. Often slanted and selective evidences are compiled in our brains, and conclusions drawn upon our many premature judgments.  The doubter or accuser tries to establish our MO, or our habits of doing things that others may not approve of ...perhaps not even MOM would approve of.

So, what is our motive??

To do what Jesus has commissioned us to do ...spread the Gospel.  Yes, it is more important to do, not procrastinating because we wonder what people may think.

But, sometimes we feel an urgency that should be tempered, so we don't overdo it.  How's that??

Well, it's not always easy ...either way, to say something when we don't really want to, or to not say something when we really want to.  We shouldn't stay hitched to the post ...but we also shouldn't feel so free that we don't even harness our tongue when we should.

Sometimes the truth brings more division than it does clarity ...because we are not all in equal agreement as to how we view God, but the truth remains that we should aim to have the Holy Spirit lead us in these areas.  In helps for us to be more clear on our own motives, and usually more effective ...as our sincerity more easily shines.
